In the configuration on some worlds there is an option to Start Equipment: yes.
This means that after leaving the Rookgaard you get additional startup stuff to the residence Depot such as:
2 Platinum Coin 
3 Meats 
Shovel 
Rope 
Mana Fluid 
10 Spears 
Damaged Serpent Sword 
Damaged Battle Hammer 
Damaged Orcish Axe 
Damaged Black Shield 
Studded Legs
