Fast and deadly, it is mainly on this devastating spell that the reputation of the most devastatingly effective wizards is based. Almost no other spell can compare to Sudden Death in terms of total destructive power. This is the reason why this spell is so popular, even though this rune can only damage a single target. In fact, most wizards and druids, and some experienced paladins, always carry several Sudden Death runes in case of an unexpected ambush. However, an experienced adventurer will not blindly rely on Sudden Death runes to save them in every situation. Since the damage caused by this rune is physical in nature, it is possible that a well-armored opponent will take a much smaller hit than a defenseless target.
